A man was shot during a clash between two groups in Munshiganj town on Monday night. Md Babul Sheikh, 35, received bullet injuries while five others were also hurt in the clash that erupted around 09:45pm near President Iajuddin School and College.Babul is the son of Motaleb Sheikh, a resident of Hatlaxmiganj.
Officer-in-charge of Munshiganj Sadar Police Station Iardous Hasan told thereport24.com the two groups got into a clash over keeping sand-laden bulkhead on the Dhaleswari river.
“The clash erupted between the Jahid group in Naogaon and the Makbul group in Hatlaxmiganj,” he said.
Bullet-hit Babul was admitted to Munshiganj General Hospital but was later shifted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital when his condition deteriorated while the other injured were given first aid.
A case would be filed in this connection, said police.
